Cellulose NP separations
The retrial on cellulose (100kD) gold separations gave similar results to the first study (results from Tecan scans):
| particle | salt | results |
| 5 | 0mM | no au in filtrate, retentate concentration |
| 15 | 0mM | no au in filtrate |
| 5 | 10mM | no au in filtrate, retentate concentration |
| 15 | 10mM | no au in filtrate |
I took the membranes and rinsed them in DI H2O. Here are the images:
It’s a little hard to see by the coloring of this pic, but the first two are 5 and 15 in 0mM salts, which remained white. The second two, 5 and 15 in 10mM salts, developed a reddish color from adsorbed gold. The last one even has a ring of purple, perhaps aggregation. So the more shielded a material gets the better chance the gold has on getting close and being stuck to the material?
